The characteristics of Liceo delle Scienze Umane
Education that prepares for the professions of the future

Foreign Languages for International Service and Global Citizenship
Foreign language learning is designed to train students with a global vision and international citizenship with a particular focus on the Mediterranean context. Through a dynamic approach that goes beyond traditional lessons, including cultural projects, international exchanges and collaborations with foreign entities, students acquire linguistic skills to communicate in an interconnected world. The study of languages becomes a bridge towards the formation of people attentive to the great problems of the planet, to the diversity of peoples and cultures, open and supportive (who can work in an international context).

Experiential learning and social engagement
The Ignatian model - which combines experience, reflection and action - encourages students not to limit themselves to theory, but to experiment and apply knowledge in real life. Through human and social science laboratories, students immerse themselves in real problems, study them and apply the concepts learned in practical contexts. In this way, this course of study aims to train aware citizens, capable of critically reflecting on social dynamics and actively participating in the construction of a more human and more just community and social life.

Projecting towards a "human" future
In 2025/26, the Gonzaga Campus inaugurates the High School of Human Sciences, a humanistic path that reinterprets the Jesuit tradition to face future challenges. This “new humanism” values relationships and care, pillars of Ignatian pedagogy, fundamental for the educational, social and scientific professions of the future, where the humanistic dimension favors a global vision of problems. Designed for students interested in human and social dynamics, the high school develops skills to understand the complexity of educational processes and prepares for key roles with responsibility and a spirit of service, in collaboration with institutions such as LUMSA and the Arrupe Institute.

Liceo delle Scienze Umane Curriculum
The curriculum of Liceo delle Scienze Umane from Gonzaga Campus offers an innovative and flexible curriculum, combining in-depth study of the humanities with a modern, forward-looking approach. The two-year program introduces students to educational, social, and cultural dynamics, promoting critical reflection and active citizenship. The three-year program broadens horizons through elective courses and experiential workshops ranging from geopolitics to health and wellness, from Mediterranean languages and cultures to social research projects. This program allows students to customize their curriculum and prepare for the academic and professional challenges of tomorrow with a global vision and a strong commitment to the common good.

Symposium
Thanks to school autonomy, Symposia was born, a week dedicated to interdisciplinary and ethical themes, where students explore themselves and the world in a new way.
Two-year period: Experiential workshops to discover Planet Earth and promote active and ecological citizenship.
Third year: Reflecting on the meaning of life, inspired by the Bible as the "great book of humanity".
Fourth year: Debate Tournament.
Fifth year: Autobiography and writing of the student's curriculum.

Health and Wellness Course
The course is designed to promote awareness and practice of a balanced and sustainable lifestyle in the context of contemporary society. Through modules dedicated to specific topics (nutrition education, addiction awareness, understanding mental health, anthropological and philosophical modules, spiritual reflection), the course explores and questions the full range of concepts of health and physical and mental well-being, connecting them to the themes of happiness and the fullness of life.

ACTION DAYS: Research and Social Action
Through concrete, creative and innovative projects of service to the person and the community, students for one afternoon a week will make real contact and investigate issues of collective interest such as poverty, inclusion, sustainability, migration and cultural transformations. The goal is to combine experience, critical reflection and concrete action, creating solutions for the common good, starting from the observation and analysis of the social fabric to investigate the dynamics of the community and promote conscious change.

Geopolitics Course
Politics has its deep roots in the classical world where it retains a profoundly positive meaning. Giving space to the political dimension in the course of study means training thinking and aware citizens, capable of connecting the past and the present, developing a critical understanding of the contemporary world and a sense of responsibility towards the future.

Mediterranean Languages and Cultures Course
This course offers an experience of linguistic exploration and in-depth study of Arabic or Spanish culture. Through laboratory activities, intercultural projects and interdisciplinary studies, students will discover the traditions and stories that have shaped the Mediterranean basin, a crossroads of civilizations and cultures to be rediscovered not only as a key to understanding the past but also to building the future.
