The Characteristics of Liceo Scientifico
High scientific education and human awareness of the world around us

Foreign language care
Special attention is given to foreign languages: English and Spanish. Through innovative methodologies, cultural projects and international exchange opportunities, we guarantee an enriching linguistic experience that prepares students to communicate confidently in an increasingly interconnected world, developing an open mind capable of fostering encounters with other cultures.

Humanistic empowerment and attention to today's world
The scientific and technological developments in which we are immersed and which await us also require reflection on the ethical and human dimensions of progress, of the future, of the world we are building. We therefore strengthen critical and philosophical reflection on scientific development and on the world around us with particular attention to the themes of legality, justice, and integral ecology. In the perspective of attention to today's world, we have chosen to offer, together with the traditional historical disciplines typical of this course, new subjects specifically aimed at stimulating the critical understanding of young people with respect to human, social and scientific challenges (Geopolitics, Philosophy of Science) as well as digital ones (Informatics and Design).

Address disciplines and dialogue with the humanistic world
The Liceo Scientifico is also the ideal school program for synthesizing the humanistic and scientific fields. Students immerse themselves in scientific practice while maintaining a lively focus on humanistic, linguistic and historical-philosophical issues. This balance guarantees a unique methodological rigor and a complete and articulated development of a broad spectrum of life skills. The three-year options can give space to the interests of the students in a more humanistic or even more decidedly scientific direction.

Laboratory approach
In the scientific high school we favor the laboratory approach to promote methods of investigation, analysis and re-elaboration typical of the scientific approach. The disciplines of natural sciences (chemistry and biology) and physics include laboratory activities that allow students to put into practice the theoretical concepts learned. This practical and experimental approach runs parallel to the theoretical study of the disciplines, offering students a complete and multidimensional experience of scientific learning.

Liceo Scientifico Curriculum
The Liceo Scientifico's curriculum combines academic excellence and educational innovation, placing students' critical and scientific development at the forefront. The two-year program provides a solid foundation in core disciplines, guiding students through the discovery of the scientific method and interdisciplinary connections. The three-year program, on the other hand, delves into areas such as logic, geopolitics, and applied sciences, offering personalized courses to develop transversal skills. A stimulating environment and laboratory activities complete a program that prepares students for university and professional challenges.

Computer Science and Design Course
A unique opportunity to develop cutting-edge skills. Through advanced lessons in programming, graphic design, and the development of innovative technological solutions, students will acquire a solid foundation to face the digital challenges of the future. From coding to design aesthetics, this course prepares students to orient themselves in the ever-changing digital world. Design introduces the aspect of creativity into the scientific process.

Philosophy of Science Course
The course offers a deep and critical look at the world of science, encouraging students to reflect on the philosophical bases that underlie scientific theories. Through the analysis of the epistemological roots and philosophical implications of scientific discoveries, students develop a broader understanding of the scientific process.
This path encourages critical reflection and becomes a springboard towards a deep understanding of scientific disciplines and their philosophical implications, preparing students for intellectual challenges and original contributions in their academic and professional career.

Geopolitics Course
Giving space to the geopolitical dimension in the course of study means training thinking and aware citizens, capable of connecting the past and the present, developing a critical understanding of the contemporary world and a sense of responsibility towards the future.

Symposium
Thanks to school autonomy, Symposia was born, a week dedicated to interdisciplinary and ethical themes, where students explore themselves and the world in a new way.
Two-year period: Experiential workshops to discover Planet Earth and promote active and ecological citizenship.
Third year: Reflecting on the meaning of life, inspired by the Bible as the "great book of humanity".
Fourth year: Debate Tournament.
Fifth year: Autobiography and writing of the student's curriculum.

Logic Course
In a perspective of orientation and preparation for university, a preparatory package for the tests is offered. The logic course offers the tools for qualified access to university studies, integrating teaching with preparatory simulations for the entrance tests to the major universities. Mathematical and formal logic contributes to developing in the student a critical, analytical and applicative thinking.

The curriculum is enhanced with a strong orientation component for university choices. Through a system of elective subjects, students can customize their study plan with one of the following electives, chosen according to their interests and inclinations (discussed in advance with their tutor):
– Law and Economics
Towards a university choice in the humanities and social sciences;
– Science and Models
Towards a choice in the medical and health or scientific and technological fields. In this case, the already chosen scientific major is further strengthened;
– Spanish
Towards a choice in the humanities and linguistics field, also useful for those considering continuing their studies abroad.
